Reader Story: Patience and Persistence Pay Off

I figured out roughly how much applying to grad school would cost , and I started putting money aside for that purpose too. Retaking the GRE and applying to eight schools set me back close to $700. In the end, I added no new debt …. But because savings account interest rates are so low right now, I’ve chosen instead of saving money for them, to send a payment each month just for my unsubsidized loan.
