My cost of living is less than $20000. I use to pride myself on discipline with money , but now that seems pointless as I just throw half or 2/3s of each royalty check into savings/investments and that still leaves thousands of dollars …. us time to save and find a house. Our friends are a mix-some unemployed/ low paying jobs, some are high. Generally, we do low -key get togethers, and only the occasional high- cost events
